Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss and her mother is English. She grew up in a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age 14. She attended an academy called the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an BA in acting. She appeared in many stage productions during her time at school, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started acting in Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. It was in the role of Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. Following this acclaim, she played Elisha in the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as in six episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008 she landed Bambi's character on ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on the series 2 and 3. Madekwe also played the lead character in How to lose friends & alienate people, which was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in the year 2008. Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009, with The thriller The Beautiful Life. The series aired only two episodes before being removed from The CW. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe's departure from the series was confirmed in May 2013. Following two seasons as the main character she appeared as a guest in the opening episode of season three. The actress portrayed Tituba in the television series Salem between 2014 and the year 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time lover, Iddo. They've worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also was a character on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was born into a large family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents were Roy and Patty along with her older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's siblings, who are all athletic, played in the summer months and play hockey in winters. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so at age two and a half she started Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley was captivated by dance when she was just a few years old. Ashley continued to dance competitively throughout high school with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and much more. Every big dance events, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which have awarded her the honor of "top Soloist".
