Sofia Pernas grew in Orange County, California. Sofia Pernas is from Morocco Moroccan native - relocated to California when she was a kid and was five years old. She graduated in 2015 from University of California San Diego and made her debut in acting. Pernas had a few appearances in NCIS and Leverage and Leverage, however she got the role as Marisa on The Young and the Restless. After leaving the soap she was offered the role of Catalina on Jane the Virgin. The model, who can speak four languages has since appeared in The Brave as Hannah Rivera, The Green Ghost and Secret Society of Second Born Royals. From the year 2019 until 2020, she played Lexi Vaziri in Blood & Treasure. Us Weekly announced in May 20 that Pernas dated Justin Hartley who was her character for The Young and the Restless. This was after Chrishell Stause (the spouse of the This Is Us actor) left him in November 2019 and Pernas began dating Hartley.
